Hello! I’m Mike Ethridge–photographer, lawyer, gallery owner, film maker, husband, and father—just not always in that order.  I consider myself a generalist, in both life and art. My lens doesn’t discriminate—it captures landscapes, people, city streets, families, and wildlife. I proudly identify with no particular school of photography, only with a love for images and the excitement which comes from freezing a story in a single frame.

I currently split my time between Charleston and  Spartanburg, South Carolina.  The South Carolina upstate, and Spartanburg in particular, is blessed with a rich and diverse art culture.  This culture, and a desire to amplify local artistic voices, was the inspiration for my opening Ridge Gallery–an art gallery located in downtown Spartanburg.  My hope is that Ridge Gallery will offer a bridge between imagination and community, and nurture a shared appreciation for creativity.

In addition to working as a photographer, I am also the founding partner of the Ethridge Law Group, a law firm handling commercial litigation in Georgia and the Carolinas.

I am actively involved in the South Carolina Bar Association, and serve on the Lawyers Assistance Program Commission.  Several years ago, I was privileged to work as founding chair of the South Carolina Bar’s Attorney Wellness Committee and I am a frequent speaker at bar events and attorney gatherings across the country.

My love for photography, love for the practice of law and interest in attorney well-being combined to inspire a special photo project entitled Lawyers & Art—A Moment of Convergence. Click here to find out more about that project.
